It's a dog!
Spencer is a mix between a Weimaraner and a Boston Terrier. Very unique breed born out of a special love story between two diverse breeds...kind of like Romeo and Juliet, I guess.
Spencer is 3 months old, loves to run, chew things, play and wrestle. He is not a barker (thankfully). He can already fetch and sit (as long as he gets a treat). The kids love him already.
Do you have any puppy tips for us?

Yet another reason to go to small group :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your furry family member.
ReplyDeleteHe's so cute. Congratulations!!! Hope all goes well with pottie training..... LOL : )
ReplyDeleteCongrats Hall Family! Keep your shoes out of Spencer's reach and make sure you have special toys for him to play with when you are gone so he does not get bored.
ReplyDeleteSome "doggie tips":
I recommend getting a "bong" ball where you can put a treat in the inside and he will spend countless minutes trying desperately to get at that treat(s) and will not even notice that you are gone. It will tire him out a bit, too.
Train him early, do not wait until he is older. Make sure that you and your wife are the masters and that he knows it. My golden retriever pup never acknowledged me as master and I had a terrible time getting him under control latter on. I was afraid of being stern with him. It was tripple the work to get him to listen and obey.
Walk him often. I did not walk my dogs often enough. Yes it is good to let him run around in the back yard, but walking out in the neighborhood is great for socialization and proper aclaimation to people and other animals. I will help to make him more obedient, too.
Blessings all!
